Houston sMILES Club (“we,” “us”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run club in Houston, Texas. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and how we use it. Our website address is houstonsmilesclub.org.
Information we collect
- Contact and volunteer information. When you email us, send a message through our contact form, or sign up to volunteer, we collect what you share with us, such as your name, email address and message.
- Donations. Donations are processed by Donorbox and Stripe. We receive your name, email, donation amount and, if you provide it, your mailing address, so we can send tax receipts and thank you. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
- Website usage. Like most websites, we use tools such as Jetpack Stats and Google Analytics (through MonsterInsights) to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular. These tools may use cookies and collect information such as your browser type, device and general location.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to you, coordinate volunteer events, process donations and send receipts, share club news if you’ve asked to hear from us, and improve our website. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Who we share it with
We only share information with the service providers that help us run the club and this website, including Donorbox, Stripe, our website host, and volunteer partners such as VolunteerHub when you sign up for an event through them. Each has its own privacy policy. We may also share information if required by law.
Links to other websites
Our site links to Instagram, Facebook, Donorbox and partner organizations. When you visit those sites, their privacy policies apply, not ours.
How long we keep your information
We keep donation records as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. We keep other contact information only as long as we need it to stay in touch or until you ask us to remove it.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, update or delete the personal information we have about you, or to stop sending you emails, at any time by contacting us.
